Description
This black bean dip is so easy to make and has just the right amount of spice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1, 15oz can black beans, drained and rinsed thoroughly
- ¼ cup diced green chilies
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
- 2 Tbsp avocado or grapeseed oil (neutral flavor)
- ¼ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp cumin
- salt and pepper, to taste
- toasted pepitas, optional for topping
- crumbled cotija cheese, optional for topping
Instructions
- Using a high-powdered blender or food processor – add black beans, green chilies, lime juice, oil, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin, salt and pepper. Blend on medium-low speed until you’ve reached your desired consistency. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides. You may have to add another Tbsp of oil to thin it out further. Taste, and adjust flavors as needed.
- Top with toasted pepitas, or crumbled cotija cheese before serving with tortilla chips, crackers, or cut up veggies.
Notes
I like making my black bean dip ahead of time and giving it time in the fridge before serving. This gives the flavors time to blend and come together nicely.
