    Blueberry Blast Smoothie

First week of 2018 is done!  I already have a feeling this year is going to fly by…they seem to do that as I get older!  As I mentioned in my blog post on Wednesday, this month I am focusing on resetting my body after the holidays, and my oh my does it already feel ah-mazing to get back on track!  I am sure I am not the only one on this bandwagon right now, so just know that I am cheering you on!  I’ve also had some help thanks to this blueberry blast smoothie, full of awesome superfoods and plant-based protein.  This smoothie recipe is also packed with healthy fats, fruits, greens, probiotics, and an extra dose of goodness thanks to the Wellness Boost by Navitas Organics.

I love starting my day off with a balanced breakfast.  That doesn't mean a BIG breakfast, it means a BALANCED meal with protein, healthy fats, and a variety of fruits and veggies for extra vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.  In other words - critical fuel to keep my body going and feeling its best.  I mean, don't we all want that?

Let's talk for a second about milk alternatives.  I try to limit my dairy intake to organic aged cheese, grass-fed butter, and organic kefir.  I can't even remember the last time I put cream in my coffee (I go hard and drink black coffee), or had a glass of cow's milk.  After much research on nutritional value and taste testing, I've settled on homemade hemp milk as the best milk alternative for me.  I also occasionally use almond, cashew, or coconut milk, but my go-to is for sure hemp milk.   Hemp milk adds an extra dose of protein, essential minerals, and fatty acids, which aren't found in a lot of nut milks.  Plus, it is easy to make at home because it doesn't require straining.   When used in a recipe, like this blueberry blast smoothie, it also keeps it nut-free.

One of the best things about smoothies in the morning is you just have to throw it all in a blender and turn it on.  And thanks to the Wellness Boost and Essential Blend from Navitas Organics, there is no extra measuring of ingredients - all of your superfoods are already in a convenient, ready to go blend!  That means, there are only about 5 minutes...I'm giving you extra time to collect all of your ingredients...between you and this healthy blueberry blast smoothie!
