Valentine's Day is almost here! How do you like to celebrate? A night on the town or perhaps a romantic night at home? Los Angeles tends to suck the joy out of Valentine's Day with overcrowded restaurants serving pre-fix menus that are often overpriced and underwhelming. No thank you! When it comes to celebrating Valentine's Day, there is nothing better than a romantic night at home. It's so nice to cook a lovely meal, open a nice bottle of wine, and of course there is always dessert! You could send your loved one chocolate covered strawberries from one of those website delivery services, but have you ever thought about making them at home? Chocolate covered strawberries are a fun and easy dessert for Valentine's Day, or any other day for that matter!
Start with some beautiful, ripe, juicy strawberries, your favorite kinds of chocolate, and some festive sprinkles. Dip, roll, and chill. That's it! Switch up the sprinkles depending on the holiday or event and suddenly you've got a festive dessert, no matter the occasion!
I love using dark chocolate and white chocolate for some contrast. I leave some dipped in plain chocolate, some rolled in sprinkles, and it's always fun to drizzle a few with the opposite chocolate. The result is a beautiful, fun, and delicious dessert the whole family can enjoy! And of course, no one can judge you for sneaking one before their done!Print
