Happy Friday y’all! Anyone else up for a glass of red wine Sangria this weekend? Maybe two? Yeah, me too! I am a huge red sangria fan, but I can’t stand it when it is overly sweet. I like when the wine and fruit compliment each other, but instead sometimes the sweetness is enough to make your teeth fall out. Not this recipe!
This is the best recipe I’ve found, by the wonderful Bobby Flay, with one simple little change. I’ve cut the amount of simple syrup in half! The results is a not too sweet, perfectly tart, refreshing sangria, ideal for your next party (Super Bowl hint hint), or brunch. Plus it looks absolutely stunning in a glass! And, with all of that fruit, it is practically a health food, so chop chop!
Red Wine SangriaPrint Recipe
- 2 bottles of Spanish red table wine
- 1 cup brandy
- 1/2 cup triple sec
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/4 cup simple syrup
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 green apple, sliced
- 1 small clamshell of blackberries, rinsed
Combine all ingredients in a large airtight container and let rest in the fridge for at least 24hrs before serving.
